Annick Villanueva
Before devoting herself to conducting, Annick VILLANUEVA pursued a career as a clarinettist and teacher (1st Clarinet Prize from the National Conservatory of Music in Lyon, winner of the International Wind Instrument Competition in Toulon).
Passionate about conducting since the age of 9, she took lessons and perfected her skills with different conductors.
Graduated by the International Confederation of Music Societies to be part of the juries of international wind ensemble competitions, Annick is regularly invited as a member of the jury: Norwegian National Championship, European Championship...
Passionate about transmission and sharing, she has been conducting both symphony orchestras and harmony orchestras with the same joy since 1986.
She is currently in charge of the artistic project of several groups (string orchestra, concert band, symphony orchestra) including the Harmonie de Bourg-en-Bresse and the Pointe de Caux Symphony Orchestra in Normandy.
Godeleine Catalan
A curious and committed young conductor, Godeleine Catalan explores all repertoires with equal energy, from symphonic to operatic to contemporary creation. Founder of the Ensemble Hédoné, a chamber orchestra dedicated to promoting both famous and forgotten works, she has been its musical and artistic director since 2022.
As assistant conductor, she collaborates with conductors such as Simon Proust (Ensemble Cartésixte) and Helmuth Reichel Silva (Uniorchester Dresden, Germany). She will also assist Marius Stieghorst for a lyric production in October 2025 in Freiburg (Germany), and will conduct Roussel's Le Testament de la Tante Caroline and Martinů's Alexandre Bis.
Also interested in creation, she directs contemporary works such as Nouveaux Horizons at the Beauvais International Cello Festival, or the musical tale Luna and the Dream Sculptor, in June 2025 in Amsterdam.
A trained cellist, she also pursued advanced studies in analysis, composition, music history and conducting at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris. Godeleine then trained in Germany, in the conducting class of Scott Sandmeier at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg, then in Austria where she benefited from the teaching of Marc Piollet at the Kunstüniversität in Graz.
She collaborates with the Philharmonic Orchestra and the Junge Kammerphilharmonie in Freiburg, as well as with the Savaria Symphonieorchester in Hungary. She also studied cello with Emmanuelle Bertrand and conducting with Olivier Kaspar and Simon Proust. Deeply committed to music in all its forms, she is also involved in teaching, orchestration, arrangement, and cultural outreach.
Godeleine is a laureate of the Fondation de France, the Meyer Foundation and the Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters of Arras.
