About us
Our story
In the summer of 1994, a concert was held in Belgium, bringing together musicians from various European countries. This first encounter was a great musical and human success, prompting the initiators to create a new kind of orchestra: an orchestra focused on the practice of music, calling for the overcoming of all divisions and promoting peace between the countries of Europe. Les Musiciens d'Europe were born.
The orchestra transcends all division – cultural, national, social, linguistic and generational – and is made up of experienced musicians from major national orchestras, professional teachers, conservatory students and high-level amateurs.

Les Musiciens d’Europe à l’Abbaye de Fontenay
Samedi 8 août 2026, 20h30
L’abbaye de Fontenay, écrin de sérénité en Bourgogne, accueillera Les Musiciens d’Europe pour une soirée exceptionnelle. Sous la baguette de Félix Benati, l’orchestre vous emmènera à la découverte de trois œuvres majeures, entre modernité et classicisme et accompagnera le violoncelliste belgo-américain Pierre Fontenelle dans 2 concerto majeurs du répertoire. Au programme de cette soirée :
- Le concerto pour violoncelle n. 2 – Klātbūtne de P. Vasks
- La symphonie n°29 de W. A. Mozart
- Le concerto pour violoncelle en Ut de J. Haydn
